Playing music, listening to music, making music, I love it all. I listen to a variety of genres and on my laptop I actually have several playlists that I put together. All of the playlists are a little different from each other. My taste in music changes frequently depending on how I feel and depends usually on what I am doing, whether it is working out, driving, studying, dancing, singing, or just chilling with my friends. As for making music, I actually received a guitar a couple Christmas's back and am finally trying to find time to learn how to play. However, with a busy schedule, there's hardly any time, and when you have small fingers like me, it doesn't make it any easier. I love almost all music, from alternative to funk to rap.

I actually had quite a difficult time putting together a playlist for this assignment because there was just so much to choose from! But I decided to go with this list of songs mainly because I currently just really like them and I usually listen to these songs when I’m either studying, chilling with my sister, or jam to them whenever I’m in my car. Some of these songs are also some of my favorite because they bring back memories to a certain day, or remind me of someone.  My sister is also really into music and actually got me into liking many of the bands. I have not been to very many concerts but my sister and I are actually trying to save up some money to go to a concert sometime soon!

Some of the things people may or may not learn about me through these songs is that I am a positive person when I’m around others, ambitious, outgoing, I love music and I like to have fun! I am ambitious yet still so confused with the things around me and I am still trying to figure myself out. Growing up to become an adult and figuring myself out has been such a big part of my life, especially this past year, and these songs, along with many others, I guess you can say indicate something larger-- my connection to my surroundings and myself. I have set goals for myself to help me grow and with these goals, they give me a purpose keep me moving, and motivate me to work hard at everything I do.

Let me know what you guys think of the list! (:

  1. Hello Meena!
I have to agree that I found this assignment very difficult as well. Having every song in the world at your fingertips and only having to choose a handful of them to represent yourself it quite a daunting task!
However, I also find it very interesting how you connect all of these songs to memories or emotions. I feel like most people do, myself included. It also surprised me to read that you sort of set songs and their meanings to goals in your life. That's something I've never really thought about before, and it seems like it would be a great motivator!
It was definitely clear to me through the songs that you posted that you are a positive person who's a little conflicted with some things, but with what I can tell solely from this, I think you'll be just fine and figure it all out!

  2. Wow! what a wide range of music taste you have! It is truly amazing to see what people's playlists contain, we have a lot of the same music taste. Beyonce is a goddess (just saying, as if you didn't already know)!! I also really enjoy how you connect every song you listen to to a distinct and separate emotion, I often tend to do that, but with memories or occurrences in my life that I do not know how to address otherwise!
